The home of Jordy Lybeck's live political commentary stream and its community.
What lybeck.io is
lybeck.io is an independent streaming-community platform built and operated by Jordy Lybeck. It is the single place to watch the live stream and take part in the community around it:
- Live stream & VODs — watch live, catch replays of past broadcasts, or tune into the 24/7 community radio station.
- Unified chat — one chat that combines messages from Twitch, YouTube, Kick, stream.place and lybeck.io itself, so the whole audience talks in one room regardless of where they watch.
- Community spaces — persistent chat rooms, forums and direct messages (built on the open Matrix protocol).
- Supporter features — optional subscriptions, donations and gifts (processed by Stripe) that unlock badges and perks and support the stream.
Why lybeck.io connects to Google / YouTube
lybeck.io uses YouTube API Services in two ways:
- Public channel info (no account access) — the site reads public data about the stream's own YouTube channel (live status, subscriber count, channel avatar) to show what's happening on the home page.
- Optional account linking — if you choose to link your own YouTube account, lybeck.io uses that connection to recognise you as the same person across platforms (so your chat identity, stats and badges follow you) and to send chat messages to the YouTube live chat on your behalf when you ask it to— that is what the "send to YouTube" option in the chat box does. We request only the YouTube scopes needed for those two things.
Linking is never required to use the site. The OAuth tokens for linked accounts are stored encrypted, and we never see or store your Google password. You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Linked accounts on lybeck.io, or revoke the app's access from your Google account security settings. Details of what we store and for how long are in our Privacy Policy.
